Everything Is Amazing

Lately I've found myself in a reflective mood. Blame it on the change of seasons, or perhaps the fact that I'm stuck at home today during a hurricane. As a New Yorker I make certain assumptions that I believe will never be challenged. The fact that this city has been shut down not once but twice in as many years is a cause for rethinking them, and others also.

Regardless of the reasons I've been so focused at doing good work that I haven't put enough time into enjoying and appreciating the results of those efforts. Nor have I done enough to say thank you to those that have helped me along the way.

While wandering the interwebs I came across the video below (Mobile users may need to click here to view). The person being interviewed is Louis C.K. and he's a comedian. This isn't the first time I've seen this clip and it never fails to make me smile. And in it there's a good lesson to hold onto:

The world is beautiful, brutal, and moving faster than ever. Shed your assumptions. Don't take the things and people you depend on for granted. Take the time to appreciate what you have and those who make up your life.

Thank you to those that help me be better.
